Portland Place Pre-school is a charity run pre-school based within Sutton cum Lound Primary school, Committee run, we are separate to the school although we work closely with them to ensure smooth transitions into school. 

Our aims:

At Portland Place pre-school we believe that the importance of early years in a child's development cannot be over emphasised. Any experience which caters for the needs of the children, before they reach statutory school age, establishes the foundations of future learning. We aim to meet these needs in our daily contact with the children. Children aged 2+ come to pre-school with a wealth of experience to draw upon. They will have learnt about people and their environment and begun to develop many skills which they need to operate in their world. It is our task to build upon this experience and extend their learning. We see each child as an individual. The children are nit pressured as we learn through play and their interests, their learning should be fun. Therefore we do our best to ensure that each child has a warm, caring and stimulating environment in which they are supported, by our qualified staff, in developing their own potential at their own pace.

Session Times

The Pre-school is open:

• Monday- Friday 7.45am-3:00pm
• Wednesday afternoon includes a Kixx session (formally mini kicks)

Term time only

Sessions are as follows:

Breakfast club 7:45-8:45

Morning 8:45-11:45

Morning and lunch 8:45-1:00

Lunch and afternoon 11:45-3:00

Afternoon 1:00-3:00

All day 8:45-3:00

Afterschool club is ran by school 3:00-5:30 (available to all pre-school children aged 3+)

FREE CHILDCARE

We offer funded spaces for 2 year olds who are entitled to the FREE 15 hours (conditions apply), we also offer the universal 15 hour funding to all 3-4 year olds (the term after they turn 3) and the additional 15 hours to those who qualify. Please ring and speak to a member of staff for more details.
