Each week, children in the Oak Class receive 8 words to learn how to spell. 4 words are taken from the Statutory Spellings lists and 4 words will focus on a special spelling rule.
The list of new words is sent to home with children at the beginning of each week and we do a short test at the beginning of the following week to see how much we've remembered.
