Hello and welcome to the SEND section of our school website. Here you will find information on our schools approach to how we support children who may have special educational needs and disabilities. At Sutton cum Lound C of E Primary School we provide a broad a balanced curriculum for all children. The National Curriculum is our starting point for planning that meets the specific needs of individuals and groups of children. Some children have barriers to learning, which means they have specific needs and require particular action by our school. We believe that all children should be valued equally within a climate of warmth and support without fear of criticism within a caring Christian environment. We wish to create a secure, stimulating and accepting community in which everyone is valued as the foundation for the highest achievements for all pupils.

Below is a useful flow chart which shows what to do if you are worried about your child. The best place to always start is your child's class teacher; they will know your child the best and are responsible for the day-to-day teaching. We use a graduated response approach which aims to identify needs early and put the support in place quickly.
